Of the 38 participants present in Rome for this Chapter, a record number of 24 are participating in a General Chapter for the first time.
Our outgoing Superior General believes that the Congregation is moving in the right direction. The opportunities and reasons for hope for a promising future outweigh the challenges as he presented his report to the participants.
The capitulants reflect on our spirituality, which is not just a matter of piety, but part of our identity and way of life as missionaries, as expressed in the five pillars of the first chapter of our Constitutions: sent to the nations, dedicated to the Incarnate Word, through the consecrated life and prayer, and in fraternal communion. The 16th CICM Chapter urges us to learn to appreciate what we have and to "drink from our own wells."
