The Superior General, with the consent of his Council, appointed Father JEAN KANYINDA KATUMBA as Provincial Superior of the Province of Afrique Australe (AFA).
Father JEAN KANYINDA KATUMBA was born on August 28, 1968, in Tshilundu (RD Congo). He professed his first vows on October 7, 1992.
After his philosophical studies at Saint-Pierre Canisius (RD Congo), he was sent as a missionary in the Philippines in 1995. After completing his master in Pastoral ministry at the Maryhill School of Theology (MST) in Manila (Philippines), he was ordained a priest on December 8, 2001, in the Philippines. He was sent in 2018 to Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago, USA, to the Institute of Religious Formation, in view of Initial Formation in Africa.
On September 1, 2019, he was transferred to the CICM Province of Kinshasa (KIN).
He was Superior of the Prenovitiate Père Nkongolo in Kinshasa when he was appointed Provincial Superior of AFA on July 7, 2021.
